Through art’s power to move us, we will let life shine.

“Life” is the core theme of the Expo.

Through art’s power to move us, we will let life shine.

Toward an Expo whose core theme is life, this initiative uses art to reflect on life and nurture the strength at the heart of living.

A concert that resonates in the heart—an event that lets life shine through the power of art.

One thing unites every person in the world: we were all born from our mother’s womb.

Let us return to the source of life and awaken its strength through the power of art.

Story

The Birth of the KISEKI Exhibition

An opportunity to reflect on life, the core theme of the Expo

A preview screening of “LIFE® INOCHI — Re-experience Birth” was held at the planetarium of Kochi’s Otepia Science Museum. Approximately 140 people working in government, universities, healthcare, and education attended. It was a deeply meaningful preview: in the audience survey, 70% were very satisfied and 20% were satisfied.

Soon afterward, Kochi University students who had attended the preview reflected on life in class and transformed those reflections into artworks. Created through their own inner struggles, these works went on to be exhibited at Kochi Medical School Hospital as the KISEKI Exhibition of healthcare art.

What is healthcare art?

An approach that uses art to reduce environmental stress in healthcare and welfare facilities, draw out human connection and the strength to live, and work toward a healthy, sustainable society and people’s well-being.

Introducing the Program

With life as their theme, artworks born from a moving experience bring healing and hope to healthcare workers and patients. In contributing to the community, they also help nurture self-esteem and love for one’s home region.

On the day, we will present the KISEKI Exhibition

and hold a talk session exploring the possibilities of art and community. Students will also join us on stage to share the process behind their work.
